Sofia Sitnikiene

Sofia is a graphic designer, artist, truth seeker, empath, and introvert, mother of Oscar and Olivia. She takes pictures of her children, nature, and London's streets. Documenting life through images that matter is her goal. She likes to experiment with light, texture, colour, and tone in her art to create images that speak to her mind, heart, and soul. Through photography, she can express her artistic vision and love of monochromatic imagery. Sofia also loves wandering the streets of her city, exploring its mysteries, and finding new things while taking strolls.

When she gave birth to her first child, she was inspired to pick up her camera once more to capture the memories and changes that took place in her family. Over time, she developed a passion for creating images that spoke to her heart and soul. With her work, she wanted to present the world around her as she perceived it. She comes from a family of artists. A painter and pigment specialist, her father creates bright and colourful scenes based on memories of his childhood in South America during the 1950s and 1960s. He primarily works with oil and acrylic paints.

Her mother was a surrealist artist who specialized in monotypes, etchings, photogravures, and lithography. During this time, she was also a hobbyist photographer with a Canon AE-1 as her first and only camera. Sofia's very first camera was also this one. Having grown up in a household dominated by colourful paintings and monochromatic etchings, her style developed as a result of these influences.

She loves dark, moody, and vibrant images, and seeks to understand the unknown through her art. Having her children has inspired her and taken her on a journey of self-discovery, eternal love, and growth. Her work has been published and exhibited worldwide.
